STORYTELLING EXCHANGE SESSIONS: MEMORIES OF ABUNDANCE The Diasporic Journey of Southeast Asians in Minnesota Join us for our first 50th Commemoration Story Collection Event! Our Southeast Asian diaspora community commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the end of the Secret War in Laos, and the beginning of the Khmer Rouge takeover. This significant anniversary cemented our legacy as diaspora and refugee individuals, but together this experience has united us in resilience, bravery, and care. The sessions are part of our work to gather, preserve, and elevate the stories of our community through a multi-leveled project of art and storytelling. Participants will take part in memory mapping to share their narratives. Stories shared during the sessions will be considered for preservation in our future Digital Storytelling Archive. Come spend time and reflect at our Abundance Altar. The physical altar is the creative art centerpiece honoring our shared histories and growth as Southeast Asians in America. Participants are invited to bring offerings for the altar to honor family members—items will be preserved for a future exhibition. Dinner will be provided. Parking voucher will be provided for the Church Street Garage. This is a free event, but attendees must register as there is limited space and for catering purposes. Donations are welcomed to help support our work! For more information on the event, location, and parking, visit: seadproject.org/abundance
